What is Reformer Pilates and how does it work?
Reformer Pilates is a form of Pilates performed on a specialised machine called a Reformer, which uses springs, straps and a moving carriage to create adjustable resistance.
The machine allows exercises to be both supportive and challenging, helping improve strength, mobility, posture and core stability. Reformer Pilates focuses on controlled, precise movements that build strength while supporting joint health and overall body awareness.
Is Reformer Pilates suitable for beginners?
Yes, Reformer Pilates is very beginner friendly.
The spring resistance on the Reformer can be adjusted to support different fitness levels, making it suitable for people who are new to exercise as well as experienced clients. Our instructors guide you through each movement and provide modifications where needed so you feel confident and supported.
How many people are in your classes?
We focus on small group fitness classes so every client receives guidance and support.
-
Reformer Pilates: maximum of 5 people
-
FIT, Mat Pilates and Boxing classes: maximum of 8 people

Smaller classes allow our instructors to provide more personalised attention while still maintaining the energy and motivation of group training.
What should I expect for my first class?
When you arrive at Incline Body and Wellness you’ll be welcomed into a supportive and friendly studio environment.
Our instructors will guide you through the equipment, explain the movements and make sure you feel comfortable before the class begins. No two classes are ever the same, so sessions stay interesting, challenging and enjoyable while helping you build strength and confidence over time.
What should I wear to a Pilates or Fitness class?
Wear comfortable activewear that allows you to move freely.
For Reformer Pilates, we recommend wearing grip socks for safety and stability on the machine. If you don’t have any, grip socks are available to purchase at the studio.
For fitness classes like FIT or Boxing, supportive trainers and comfortable workout clothing are perfect.
What is the difference between Reformer Pilates and Fitness classes?
Both class styles support strength and overall fitness but focus on different training approaches.
Reformer Pilates focuses on controlled movement, core strength, mobility and alignment using the Reformer machine.
Fitness classes such as FIT or Boxing combine strength training, cardio and functional exercises to improve endurance, power and full-body conditioning.
Many clients enjoy combining both styles for a balanced training routine.
Do I need to be fit before joining classes?
Not at all.
Our studio welcomes people of all fitness levels, ages and experience. Clients range from beginners starting their fitness journey through to experienced exercisers. We have participants from 18 through to their 70s and 80s, including both men and women.
Our instructors provide options and modifications so everyone can train at a level that feels appropriate for their body.
Do you offer duo training or partner workouts?
